Canes hire Michelle McMahon to replace Chantel McCabe as TV host
Michelle McMahon will join the Hurricanes as TV/web host, the team announced Thursday.
McMahon's primary roles will include serving as host of the Hurricanes' pregame show on Fox Sports Carolinas and SportSouth, as well as hosting and producing video content for CarolinaHurricanes.com. She replaces Chantel McCabe, whose contract was not renewed after last season.
McMahon has been based in Chicago since 2012, working at The Big Ten Network (BTN). At BTN, she produced content for and hosted the network's weekly hockey and lacrosse shows, co-hosted the Women's Sports Report and served as color analyst for the network's volleyball coverage.
A University of Michigan graduate, she also worked as a sideline/field reporter for live events on BTN, Fox Sports and Comcast SportsNet-Chicago, and has contributed to BTN's online hockey coverage.
