"We are stoked to be working with HeadCount on our upcoming tour! It is super important to us to spread awareness on the upcoming presidential election and give our fans the opportunity to register to vote at our shows!" Best Coast said in a statement.

According to a press release, roughly 15.5 million Americans aged 21 or younger will be eligible to vote in their first presidential election in 2016, marking the first time eligible Millennials outweigh Baby Boomers.

HeadCount's aims to help young adults register for and have influence on the election – without endorsing a specific party or candidate. "We reach young people and music fans where they already are – at concerts and online – to inform and empower," reads a description on the HeadCount website. "Our message is not about what party you support or where you land on an issue. It's that you must speak to be heard."

The organization was founded in 2004 by a group of concert promoters and musicians, including the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir. Over the past 12 years, more than 300,000 voters have registered at over 4,000 events.

Other artists/bands already affiliated with HeadCount include Kings of Leon, the Black Keys, Wilco, Vampire Weekend, Phish, Jay Z, Dave Matthews Band, the National, My Morning Jacket, Death Cab for Cutie, Pearl Jam, John Mayer and Spoon.
