GoDaddy Now Added Cloud Services to Its Hosting Platform
GoDaddy, the famous website hosting service and domain signing company, went public in 2015 and now is including cloud services. These are intended to grow the earnings it has from 14 million companies that represent the bulk of its consumer platform.
This week, it has revealed the new Cloud Cloud Applications and Cloud Servers, which are Amazon-style options that will allow firms to create, test and range cloud alternatives on GoDaddy's system facilities. It is worth noting that, even those functions are rather Amazon-style options, GoDaddy considers that it is occupying a segment where AWS are not actually performing so well nowadays.
This is represented by business owners that want cloud solutions supplementing a broader activity, which might not be solved by the cloud. This is another method to reach the same result, said GoDaddy's representatives about the dimensions and viewers that AWS mostly targets.
They are really about allowing smaller companies to be created and developed and they have a certain period to cover on GoDaddy's until transforming these firms into dedicated information centers. It is not an unexpected move for GoDaddy though, since the web hosting business has been developing its systems in could solutions for some time.
Lately, it purchased the public client branch of Apptix after it released GoDaddy Pro. This is a network that also offers customers the choice of utilizing GoDaddy's service for multiple SaaS pursuits such as WordPress hosts, running exclusive private solutions and now included with that cloud web servers and applications.
GoDaddy's strategy to release cloud web servers and applications arrives at an exciting time of improved competitors among Amazon or other suppliers. On an advanced level, Amazon's AWS activity has mostly taken over the marketplace for organizations that are developing and implementing applications in could systems, hosting some of Internet's major businesses as clients.
Lately, there has been a series of high-profile ideas, like Dropbox controlling even more their own services, Spotify joining its forces with Google or Apple allegedly expanding third-party software that it uses for cloud services.
According to many reports, modifications like those will unlikely have long-lasting effects on AWS's main business. However, they emphasize the high level of competition in the industry and how a company interested in adding more activities in this segment can find numerous chances to do so. For GoDaddy, this meant developing relatively easily and freelancing some elements of the system.
