LeaseWeb USA Acquires Ubiquity Hostingâs Parent Company Nobis Technology Group
LeaseWeb USA announced Tuesday that it has acquired Nobis Technology Group, including its Ubiquity Hosting brand, to enhance its infrastructure and position in the gaming and enterprise-level cloud and hosting markets in the US. With the acquisition, LeaseWeb USA picks up Ubiquity's 7 US data centers, as well as cloud and hosting customers. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Ubiquity's current customers will be unaffected in the short term, with existing services delivered for the same price, though eventually they will all move to LeaseWeb's portal. The two companies will be integrated to allow customers to order services from all of the combined facilities. The companies said they will offer enterprise-level equipment, infrastructure redundancy and superior SLAs across all US facilities by the end of the year.
LeaseWeb USA CEO William Schrader called Ubiquity Hosting a "powerfully complementary addition" to LeaseWeb. He noted that Ubiquity's multiplayer gaming services boost LeaseWeb's pitch to game developers, and that with an expanded network including 10 data centers in the US, customers will have improved strategic access to LeaseWeb solutions.
"The expanded capabilities of LeaseWeb and Ubiquity creates a unique and competitive value proposition for customers looking for the right cloud hosting solutions that save them time, money and stress," said Schrader.
Nobis consolidated Ubiquity Servers with Ubiquity Hosting in early 2014, when Ubiquity launched a new cloud hosting service developed in-house. It has provided dedicated and cloud server solutions to businesses worldwide since.
"I am pleased with this opportunity we have of uniting Ubiquity and LeaseWeb because combined, our teams, our products and our infrastructure serve many market segments and complement what we have been striving for since we started in 2006," Clint Chapman, CEO and co-founder of Nobis said in a statement.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Nobis received exclusive financial advice from investment banking firm DH Capital.
The LeaseWeb group of companies appointed an advisory council in December to guide its international growth, and added NetApp all-flash storage to its portfolio of solutions in September.
