SBK hosting Mardi Growl fundraiser in June
The event will be held at the Holston River Brewing Company, which is located at 2623 Volunteer Parkway. It kicks off at 5 p.m. and will include music, food, door prizes and more.
"Everybody come out and have a good time," said Donna Davidson, operations manager for SBK. "People can bring their dogs out. It's a pet-friendly event."
All proceeds will go toward the formation of a new shelter. The two current shelters are inadequate and efforts are currently underway to bring a consolidated shelter to the area.
Tickets for the event are $20 and will include two concerts, a T-shirt, Mardi Gras beads and entry in a raffle for prizes including a free trip to Destin, Florida, or Hilton Head Island in South Carolina.
Davidson said SBK staff members are working hard on raising funds for a new shelter and more events are planned for the future.
Anyone wishing to purchase tickets can do so at both the Kingsport Animal Shelter and the Blountville Animal Shelter or through the SBK website at www.sbkanimals.org.
