It's been a year since host Steve Harvey famously announced the wrong person's name as the winner of Miss Universe 2016. Despite the blunder, Harvey is back Sunday night as the new Miss Universe is crowned.

Miss Universe 2017 will be broadcast live from the Mall of Asian Arena in Manila on Sunday (Jan. 29) starting at 7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. CT) on Fox. Livestreaming is available on FoxNow, DirectTVNOW and Sling with a subscription to those services.

Here's all you need to know about this year's pageant:

First, what happened last year?

Last year, Harvey originally announced Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez had won with Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines finishing as first runner-up. He soon realized the mistake and the crown was taken from Miss Columbia and given to Miss Philippines. It will be interesting to see the reception Harvey receives this year with the pageant in the Philippines.

Who are the contestants?

A total of 86 contestants from around the world take part in Miss Universe. Each competes in swimwear, evening gown and interview categories and those with the highest scores move on to the top 12.

What will we see Sunday night?

On Sunday, contestants will introduce themselves before the top 12 are announced. The finalists will compete in swimwear and evening gown before a question-and-answer portion.

Who is representing the U.S.?

Miss USA is the feeder system for the Miss Universe pageant. Miss USA 2017 is Deshauna Barber. The Georgia native was Miss District of Columbia in the 2016 Miss USA pageant before capturing the national title.

A lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves, Barber is the first active member in the military to be crowned Miss USA.

Fans can vote for their favorites up to 10 times per day through Saturday through a registered account at vote.missuniverse.com, the official Miss U app, on Twitter by using #MissUniverse and the country specific hashtag found on the voting website, or by downloading the mobile messaging app Vodi.
