A Majority of Web Professionals Prefer WordPress For Building Websites [STUDY]
The advancement in technology and network infrastructure has triggered an unprecedented competition among web professionals, who are willing to launch their business online. Despite growing adoption of mobile apps, a website is still the preferred gateway to the online business. While there are many tools available for designing a website, it's a tricky job to find a CMS platform that allows web professionals to get the changes done with a blink of an eye. WordPress, however, is satisfying the needs to a greater extent.
One-fourth, or 27.8% to be more precise, of all websites today is running on WordPress. In fact, among all those websites that are powered by some known content management system (CMS) 58.9% are powered by WordPress.
As the number of websites that are powered by any CMS, especially WordPress, is increasing with phenomenal rate, the pressure is mounting on the infrastructure that supports these platforms. This has created an unprecedented demand for managed infrastructure services, which is resulting in increasing need of managed WordPress hosting.
According to a recent study, 78% of web professionals, including web designer, developer and agencies, who have built their website on WordPress are considering using a managed WordPress hosting in the next 6-12 months to satisfy their fast-changing needs. The finding becomes more important in the light of the fact that the figure consists of 53% of non-managed WordPress users.
Web professionals are desperately finding ways to optimise their daily efficiency without bothering much about underlying infrastructure. Simple Installation, performance guarantee and automatic backups are the three most important benefits offered by managed WordPress hosting that is attracting web professionals, the study claims.
So, what are the main features while selecting a hosting provider?
Reliability, security, performance guarantee, knowledgeable customer support representative and 24/7 customer support are the most important while selecting a hosting provider, study claims. Unfortunately, a majority of managed WordPress hosting providers are failing to on these grounds. Almost 40% of the respondents who participated in the study said that price increase and inexperienced customer support have emerged as the biggest disappointing aspects.
Industry experts believe it's high time when hosting providers must start offering CMS-optimised hosting services. This will help web professionals to select reliable hosting provider as per their preferred CMS or framework.
The trend has already begun as most of the well-known hosting providers are already offering cloud server optimised for WordPress.
