IRRITATED: Gary Lineker gets annoyed at being trolled by followers on Twitter

The Match Of The Day host has admitted he finds it "irritating" when he is attacked online.

He has previously been labelled a "traitor" over his views on Britain.

The former Barcelona and Spurs striker, 56, said: "Twitter gives me quite a large platform so if I feel strongly about something, I'll say it.

"I get more negative reaction than I've ever had in my life, but I also get more positive reaction."

Lineker added: "I'd like to think I have a conscience. I do care about this country.

"The most irritating thing I get labelled is a traitor because I'm critical of certain things in my country, whereas certain people portray themselves as patriots when they're actually going against some principles which are important to how we are as a nation."
