Ellen DeGeneres NOT Hosting Game Show To Distract From Divorce Rumors, Despite Report
Celeb Dirty Laundry Celebrity Rumors Ellen DeGeneres Portia de Rossi
By Andrew Shuster | 5:09 pm, March 5th, 2017

(Gett y Images)
Ellen DeGeneres is NOT hosting her new game show because she wants to distract from rumors she's getting a divorce from Portia de Rossi, despite a bogus webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We're told it's "false."
It was recently announced DeGeneres has signed on for the hour-long, primetime game show, "Ellen's Game of Games," which will be based on segments from her daytime talk show. But Celeb Dirty Laundry is now arbitrarily claiming DeGeneres is only hosting the game show to "repair her reputation" and "bury the divorce reports" about her and de Rossi.
The website goes on to allege DeGeneres has a "two-faced personality," which is why she's now trying to "prove to the entertainment industry that she has what it takes to become a huge primetime star." Without a single source to back up its claim, the outlet adds, "It wouldn't be surprising if Ellen even tried to move her way up to the late night talk show circuit as well."
Despite how ridiculous the report seems, Gossip Cop still checked in with a reliable source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us the webloid's story is entirely "false." The baseless theory that DeGeneres is only hosting a game show to distract from her personal life is both preposterous and untrue. Additionally, her marriage to de Rossi is going strong.
Of course, we're not surprised by the site's inaccurate report. Gossip Cop recently busted Celeb Dirty Laundry for falsely claiming DeGeneres was trying to "salvage" her marriage to de Rossi. There was no truth to that story, and the same goes for this latest one.

Google Firebase Hosting & Custom Domain - The Missing Manual
Why would you spend acquiring a web hosting plan for any Ionic/Angular/Native/Desktop app backed specially by Google Firebase database or any other, when the Google Firebase Cloud Platform comes with one simple but extra ordinary feature - Google Firebase Hosting that too with an option to go with self owned domain.
It took me few minutes to configure and get started with this Wowsome! feature in the Google Firebase Console. I am sharing the steps on how to get one configured for you.
Step 1:
When on your Google Firebase Console switch to Hosting tab which lies under the left vertical navigation bar.
Step 2:
Even though you haven't yet configured any domain and this is your first time you will always see above screen with a Get Started button. Hit this button and continue for two steps.
Step 4:
When you see the above screen hit the Connect Domain button. you will be prompted to add your self owned domain name like below:
After you type in your domain name hit Continue.
Note: You also have an option on this screen to redirect your domain to an existing website which is already running and hosted elsewhere.
Step 5:
Google Firebase wants you to verify the ownership of the domain name you just added to connect. All you need to do is copy paste this record into your domain control setting (DNS) and save as below Godaddy example:
After your domain ownership is verified by Google Firebase you will be shared some settings of A record that you will need to enter into you domain control (DNS) settings as below:
Make sure you remove all existing default entires under A host or else it will not work. If you failed to do so Google will warn you with a message inside Firebase console > Hosting > Connect Domain > Message — "Google Firebase is expecting A record to be xxxx and found yyyy".
Note: Google Firebase configures behind the scenes a SSL certificate (example — https://www.mycustomdomain.com) which takes time, for me everything worked within 24 hours.
Well its time to keep your fingers crossed if all goes well and you followed me correctly you should see below screen when you hit www.mycustomdomain.com in the browser address bar:
You see above screen as there are no files to be served or not uploaded yet, to deploy please see my earlier story on Google Firebase can host your website and single page application

Report: Many Federal Government Employees Oblivious of Cloud Computing Impact â Web Host Industry Review
Nearly half (40 percent) of federal government employees don't know if cloud computing has had a positive or a negative impact on their department or agency, according to new research from Deloitte, highlighting a major issue as government agencies continue in their push to cloud adoption and data center consolidation.
Less than one in four respondents (24 percent) say cloud computing has had a positive impact on their organization, according to Deloitte's Mastering the Migration report, which surveyed 328 federal government employees from over 30 departments and agencies.
Forty percent of respondents do not know if cloud adoption has helped or hindered their organization, and a further 31 percent say it has had neither positive or negative impact. Almost every category in which "don't know" was an available response, it was the most common.
The survey also found that "lift and shift" strategies have been the primary method of meeting the federal government's

Amazon Web Services cloud migration service 2nd Watch raises $19M
Doug Schneider of 2nd Watch
2nd Watch, which helps large organizations such as Crate & Barrel, Condé Nast, Coca-Cola North America and Lenovo build and deploy applications on top of Amazon Web Services, today announced $19 million in funding that it will use to grow its cloud enablement and migration services.
Delta-v Capital led the round, and previous investors like Madrona Venture Group, Columbia Capital and Top Tier Capital Partners also participated. Total funding of the 7-year-old Seattle-based company now stands at $56 million.
2nd Watch CEO Doug Schneider said that the company added several large customers in 2016, and the funding will fuel the growth of the business as more organizations increasingly transition to the public cloud. He told GeekWire that 2nd Watch's goal is to help large enterprises "modernize their IT infrastructure," moving those companies from legacy private data centers to AWS.
"We've seen more traditional enterprise companies not just adopt the public cloud, but accelerate adoption," Schneider said. "This raise is really targeted toward continuing to invest to be ahead of the demand we see in the marketplace, and what we're seeing from our customers in terms of how quickly they are growing."
2nd Watch claims more than 400 enterprise workloads under management, and more than 200,000 instances in its managed public cloud. It offers end-to-end support for cloud migration, which includes the design, financial planning, building, and managing of public cloud services. The company doubled its revenue in 2016.
"Typically, when a company wants to adopt the public cloud, it can be very overwhelming," Schneider said. "It's kind of like building a new custom home, and we function as the architect."
2nd Watch employs about 160 people, with plans to top 200 later this year. It has offices in Seattle, Spokane, New York City, and Atlanta.
Some of the company's rivals include Accenture and Cloudreach, the latter of which sold a majority stake to private equity firm Blackstone last month. In a press release announcing that deal, Cloudreach co-founder Pontus Noren said the investment would enable their customers "to innovate at pace and adapt their business to today's IoT, AI and digitally driven world."
It's a competitive and growing market, with Forrester estimating that public cloud services will be a $236 billion industry by 2020. Schneider said that large enterprises are accelerating adoption of the public cloud, one of the reasons they are expanding with a new East Coast Managed Cloud Services Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.
A way for these enterprises to become more agile is to unlock the power of the public cloud."They're telling us that traditional infrastructure solutions and partners are ill-equipped to manage workloads and virtual data centers in the public cloud," said Schneider in a release. "As companies move in this direction, they require support from partners like 2nd Watch that have experience managing the largest and most sensitive applications and workloads on AWS."
At this time, 2nd Watch is largely focused on assisting clients with AWS integrations. It is recognized as an AWS Premier Partner, and is now a part of the AWS migration acceleration program. But that may change over time, with Schneider saying that they plan to work with all of the other major cloud platforms.
"Not a question of if, just a question of when," said Schneider of the company's expansion onto other public cloud platforms, adding that they will follow the lead of customers.
Here's a tweet from AWS chief Werner Vogels:
congrats to excellent #AWS partner @2ndwatch on their growth "AWS cloud migration service 2nd Watch raises $19M" https://t.co/PWmYlvKZj8
— Werner Vogels (@Werner) March 2, 2017
Schneider is the former president of Verio, which he led to an IPO before selling to NTT Communications for more than $5 billion in 2000. He most recently served as executive vice president and general manager at Melbourne IT, a publicly held Australian Web hosting company. He's also the former CEO of AllCall.
Schneider has seen a lot of change while helping lead tech companies for more than two decades. But he hasn't seen a level of disruption that has come with enterprises migrating to the public cloud from legacy IT systems.
"A way for these enterprises to become more agile is to unlock the power of the public cloud," Schneider explained. "You may not have seen all the dollars shift yet, but the focus has definitely shifted. There is just a massive tailwind behind this with the thesis around more and more workloads ending up in the public cloud."

Keep your website safe by choosing the right hosting service
Generally, business owners tend to believe that their website is being backed up, that it is actively maintained by their hosting service, and that the service will keep their site protected, up-to-date and operational. However, that's probably not the case.
"Site backup and updates likely are not being provided by most hosting services," says Marling Engle, founder and president of Metisentry. "That's not something many people know until there's a problem that costs them valuable data, a first-page search ranking or customers' trust."
He says the largest, most commonly used cloud providers don't offer site backup as part of their basic packages. This leaves many owners and their developers to perform regular software updates, most of which are critical security patches. Unless an owner knows to ask someone to regularly check for and install this software, his or her website is left vulnerable.
"A good host is a site owner's unsung hero because sites are constantly under attack. Having a service that keeps sites safe is critical for preserving these valuable assets."
Smart Business spoke with Engle about what to look for from a hosting service.
What are the risks associated with not regularly backing up or updating a website?
Sites are extremely vulnerable to compromise if they're not up to date. The effect of a site being compromised can be a dramatic drop in search ranking. Sometimes a site can't regain its place among the top results, which means less exposure, which means losing business to competitors who now rank higher.
Companies also lose credibility when their site is compromised. When customers visit a company's site and see inappropriate or unusual material, they'll leave and might not come back.
E-commerce sites that are compromised could result in a loss of leads and customer information. And in e-commerce, a security breach is considered fraudulent activity. It damages customers' trust, and that leads to a great deal of hesitance or outright refusal to purchase through a business' site.
What is important to understand about backup and security?
Backup has two components. The first is retention, the quality of which is based on a company's ability to go back in time to an uncompromised version of its website and the speed with which that version can be restored. If a site is compromised on a Friday and the company finds out on Monday, it needs to be able to recover enough data preserved from the earlier version to restore its site.
The other aspect of backup is security, which is largely predicated on a site being up to date. Software updates eliminate exploitable vulnerabilities that would otherwise allow bad actors to breach a site.
With those two issues addressed, the hosting environment can be considered. A server's firewalls can filter and clean traffic before it reaches a site's code. If both are hardened, they can prevent attacks, even to sites that aren't as secure as they should be. A good hosting environment is another layer of protection.
What does full stack mean and what advantage does it offer?
Full stack means working from the server up through the application. Full stack developers can build the server environment and write, update and manage the application. For businesses, working with a full stack developer means having access to a broader range of development skills that essentially equate to a one-stop shop — companies present a design concept and the full stack developer builds, hosts, manages and scales it while providing backup and ongoing security.
What other services should business owners discuss with potential hosts?
What often isn't considered is access to subject matter experts. Working with a hosting partner with a staff that has experience can mean talking to an engineer who has been working in systems for 20 years — someone who can solve problems and restore services fast.
There have been several damaging attacks perpetrated against businesses' websites that have caused them to lose valuable data. Understanding what services are critical to keeping a site secure and operational is the first step to finding a good hosting partner.
