CV defends hosting Trump rally
Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump announced on his website Friday night that he will be making a campaign stop in Cumberland County Monday.
Trump will host a rally at Cumberland Valley High School Monday at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 4 p.m.
Cumberland Valley School District issued a news release this weekend explaining why the district chose to host the campaign stop and acknowledging payment for use of the facilities.
"While we acknowledge that any electoral process often conjures strong feelings by many citizens, it is important to recognize that approval of this tour stop absolutely is not an endorsement of any political party or presidential candidate by the District," the news release reads. "In addition, the campaign will cover all costs associated with rental of the facility. Equally as important to also note is that the event is scheduled to occur on a date in which school is not in session."
"As a public learning institution, our buildings are made available for community purposes, provided that such use does not interfere with the educational program of the schools and that all school district policies are followed," CV's news release reads. "We are very proud of our facilities, which previously have been used for similar events including evening senatorial debates and educational programs hosted by legislators. Additionally, we uphold the electoral process each year when we open the doors to two of our buildings for voters to let their voices be heard.

The Albuquerque Police Department and Alburquerque Community Policing Council will be hosting community discussion about the Department of Justice Settlement Agreement.
The meetings will be taking place in each of the city's six area commands. They will be taking place during the regularly scheduled Community Policing Councils.

Map the User Friendly Host Name With Its Corresponding IP Address
In this article, I am going to cover how to map the user-friendly host name with its corresponding IP address using Host File in IIS.
BackgroundA few days back I got a requirement to change the IP address of our locally hosted website in IIS 8 of Windows server 2012 R2, since it was difficult for the client to remember the IP address every time.
Now I am going to change this to some user-friendly name, for ex : www.Karthiksachin.com
Let's see step by step how can we achieve this.
In simple words, Host file is like a telephone directory which will contain the number(IP Address) and associated address(Host Name). So when you give a Host name like www.google.com into your browser, then the Host file is started to see if you have the IP address for that site. If you have, then your computer will get it and act accordingly, otherwise, it will ask the details to the ISP.
Location of Host File in File SystemThe path to the Host file in Windows is %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\ where %systemroot% is usually c:\windows unless you installed Windows on a different partition. So the same can be written as c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts.
Step 1 - To access the host file in Windows 7 you can use the following command in the Run Line to open notepad and the file.
Then it will open the following text file as shown below,

Two Accra based radio stations owned by the Network Broadcasting Company, have temporarily shut down in solidarity with the three contemnors who were handed four months jail sentences on Wednesday morning by the Supreme Court.
Radio Gold (90.5fm) and Montie FM (100.1fm) went off air around 3:10 pm on Wednesday.
Graphic Online was monitoring the two radio stations when it noticed that they simultaneously went off air without any information to listeners.
Checks from sources at the station however indicated that they went off air in solidarity with the trio, who have been jailed four months each by the Supreme Court.
The directors of the mother company of the two stations, Network Broadcasting have also been sentenced to a fine of Ghc30, 000 by the Supreme Court.
If the directors fail to pay the fine by close of work on Thursday July 28, 2016, they will be held liable to a prison term.
The court however did not indicate the prison term they will have to serve.
Mr. Ato Ahwoi,a director of Network Broadcasting Company and a former presidential advisor was in court for the first time on Wednesday and was also found guilty of criminal contempt. The other directors were convicted together with the trio, Salifu Maase alias Mugabe and his two panelists Alistair Tairo Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn last week.
Mr. Ahwoi who was making his first appearance in court on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 since he was absent at the first two sittings pleaded he was liable with explanation and was subsequently convicted and sentenced.
The three convicts, radio presenter Salifu Maase alias Mugabe and his two panelists Alistair Tairo Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn were convicted for making contemptious statements about the Court.
The two political commentators threatened the lives of judges of the superior court on Accra-based radio station, Montie FM. They made the statements on a programme known as 'Bia Gya' [Open Fire] and hosted by Mugabe.
The Supreme Court presided over by Ms Justice Sophia Akufo apart from putting them in prison also fined the three Ghc10,000 each. If they fail to pay the fine by close of work on Thursday July 28, 2016, they will each serve an additional one-month term in prison.
In addition to the Ghc30, 000 fine to be paid by the owners of the Montie FM, Mr. Harry Zakkour's company, Zeze which owns the Montie FM frequency 100.1fm, is also to pay a Ghc30, 000 fine.
If the two companies fail to pay the fine by close of work on Thursday, July 28, 2016, all their directors would be held liable to a prison term.
The court, however, did not indicate the prison term, the directors would have to serve,
It is not clear when the managers of the two stations intend to bring back their programmes on air.

Palike website to host GIS-linked tax details of 16.5 L properties

Public can get information of any property in BBMP limits
In a move that will name and shame property tax evaders and defaulters, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will soon put the Geographic Information System-linked property tax details in the public domain.The BBMP has almost completed the Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping of its 16.5 lakh properties in its jurisdiction.
It has conducted a survey and recorded details such as owners' name, address of each of the property, built-up area, type of use (residential or commercial), status (own use or tenanted or both) and tax payment status since 2008-0 9 (after the delimitation of wards). The details have been linked to GIS map, which will soon be uploaded on the website: bbmp.gov.in.
People can access the details of any property located in the 198 wards of the BBMP by a mere click of a mouse.
Designed by the IT wing of the BBMP, one can locate a property on the yet-to-be-named property tracking system by clicking on the map menu.
One has to enter either Property Identification (PID) number or name of the owner and the address to get details.
A balloon will pop up on the property, indicating the location. A double-click on the balloon opens up the details (name of the owner, address etc).
The BBMP is in the process of uploading the scanned copies of application form pertaining to the tax payment.
New PIDUnder the system, all the properties will be assigned a new PID number comprising ward number, street number and the property number.
In case of apartments, PID number will have subdivisi ons. For instance, individual flats in an apartment complex built on, say, plot number 98 will have PID number as 98/1, 98/2, 98/3 and so on.The BBMP is planning to identify properties having tax arrears with red-colour mark on the system, while those not having any dues will go with blue mark.
BBMP Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad said GIS-linking of properties is aimed at bringing in transparency in the tax collection system in the Palike. "It has multiple advantages: Tax evaders and defaulters will be caught easily. The BBMP will know if a property is used for commercial purpose without permission. It also mounts pressure on the Revenue officials to collect tax from all the properties. It will automatically increase the revenue," he added.
More importantly, the property owners can access information about their properties online and nobody can tamper with the details. Mapping of almost all the wards has been completed. The IT wing is conducting verification of the details.
Currently, the system is being fine-tuned by taking suggestions from experts. It will be uploaded on the website in a month's time. The BBMP will keep updating information on the system. People can also give their feedback on corrections or modification need to be made, he said.
The GIS mapping of properties was first conceived in 2003. The then BMP had managed to map properties in 28 wards.
The entire exercise was shelved after the formation of BBMP and the subsequent delimitation of wards.

On June 14 and 15, the Library of Congress hosted Archives Unleashed 2.0, a web archive "datathon" (otherwise known as a "hackathon," but apparently any term with the word "hack" in it might sound a bit menacing) in which teams of researchers used a variety of analytical tools to query web-archive data sets in the hopes of discovering some intriguing insights before their 48-hour deadline is up. This was the second instance of this event- the University of Toronto hosted the first in March 2016- in what organizers plan to be a regular occurrence.

For organizers Matthew Weber, Ian Milligan and Jimmy Lin, seasoned data scholars and educators, Archives Unleashed is an exercise in balancing discussion and practice — or what Milligan calls yacking and hacking — to help improve web archive research. How To Make A Website With Wordpress And Start A Blog Online In Just Under 15 Minutes
The one thing that typically stops people who want to become bloggers from taking the plunge is that they simply don't know how to go about doing it.
There are a lot of decisions for a blogger to make right off the bat - sometimes within the first ten minutes of setting up their blog. It's enough to consider your blog's content and niche, but it is something else entirely to be riddled with worries of plugins, themes, domain names, and the like.
What if I told you that you could start a blog on WordPress in about fifteen minutes?
Trust me, confusion and hesitation aside, it's completely possible.
WordPress is the leading blogging site out there right now, with huge brands like Variety and MTV News running on them. That being said, it can be a bit confusing.
See, WordPress requires that the blogger (that's you!) self-host their blog. In other words, you can post to WordPress, but you must find a host to store your files on.
Does this sound confusing? That's because it certainly can be when not explained properly. But don't worry, we're about to make it a whole lot more simple for you.
To help you along, we have set up a simple to follow step by step tutorial on how to start your own WordPress blog on Hostgator, which is an exceptional web hosting service.
But before we begin, let's get a few common misconceptions figured out.

Step 1: What is a domain name and how do I create one?A domain name is the (www.domainname.com) name of your website. It is the thing that people will type in every single time they want to go to your blog.
I cannot stress the importance of a good domain name.
To give you an idea how to think of a good domain name, you first need to narrow down exactly what your site is going to be. If you are going to start a mom blog, then your name should be related to kids, or parenting or something fun, maybe something like:
It can be the difference between someone going to your website and avoiding it altogether. You want yours to be something that is easy to type and remember, but not at all kitschy and cheesy. You should try to avoid hyphens, numbers, and anything that doesn't look sleek and professional.
Remember: your domain name is the very first representation of your blog. You want to set the tone right from the beginning that this is a blog that should be taken seriously.
www.1chance4fun-ny.com is a heck of a lot less appealing than something like www.newyorkactivities.com, don't you think?
You are going to create your domain name a bit later on in this tutorial, but it isn't a bad idea to start thinking ahead and come up with something that you really enjoy.

Now, without further ado, let's get started in creating your WordPress blog, shall we?
Step 2: Choose a hosting plan: Hatchling.
Hostgator, which is the web host we're going to be using today, offers three unique payment options: Hatchling, baby, and business. Each plan offers a unique set of options, so it is entirely up to you as to which of the 3 plans you decide upon.
For blogging newbies, however, I recommend that you get started with the Hatchling plan, as it offers only 1 domain, and that should be sufficient for you and your blog.
Click the "Sign Up Now" button to continue the process and move on to the next step.
Step 3: Enter your domain name.
Remember just a few moments ago when we were going over good versus bad domain names? Now is the time where this comes in handy.
Enter the domain name of your choosing into the Enter your Domain tab. You can also choose what goes after that (.com, .net, etc.), so your website is exactly as you want it.
If the domain is available, you may continue with your set up process. If not, you may need to make a few adjustments until Hostgator tells you that your name is available.
Step 4: Confirm your hosting plan.
You will be asked to not only confirm what hosting plan you want, but how you would like your billing cycle to go.
Something to keep in mind is that the longer you promise to pay for your website, the cheaper it will be. For example, your monthly payments will always be cheaper if you are committing to 36 months than if you are committing to only 6 months at a time.
Once that is established, you must create a username and security pin for yourself. The username will be used to log into your account, and the security pin is used to confirm your identity when you speak with customer support - and trust me, at one point or another, you WILL need to talk to customer support. It goes with the territory of being a blog owner.
Step 5: Enter your billing information and confirm.
These next few steps are very self-explanatory, so I'm going to put them all together in one giant step. You will be brought to a page with basic billing information. Fill it out, double check to make sure you haven't made any typos, then move on to the next page.
You will then be asked if you'd like any additional services, such as a professional email or hacker protection. There are many WordPress plugins out there that will help you with hacking protection, so I suggest that you skip these completely and move on. If, however, you spot something that you would really like to add to your site, don't hesitate in doing so.
Then it's on to coupon codes. Remember when I said that certain bloggers will offer discounts to web hosting sites? The code will usually automatically be entered here.
If it is not, however, you may enter it into the box manually. Click the Validate button and watch your subtotal change right before your very eyes.
You must then review your total cost, make sure that everything looks right, and click the "I agree to terms and service..." tab before submitting your order.
Guess what? You just did about 75% of the hard work already. Now all that's left to do is set up WordPress, and then you're finished!
Step 6: How to Install WordpressI thought you'd never ask! Once you have submitted your order, you will receive an email within a minute or so.
This email will include plenty of important information, so make sure to keep it somewhere safe. In addition to your username and password, it will also include a link to your control panel.
Click the link to your cPanel (that's what Hostgator calls their control panel) and you will be asked to enter the username and password that are also in the email.
I told you that email was important!!
Once you are inside of your cPanel, scroll down a bit until you see a section entitled Software/Services, then click the QuickInstall icon.
QuickInstall is where you will finally install WordPress. On the left hand side of the screen, you should see a tab entitled Blog Software with WordPress included under it.
Click the button that says WordPress, then click Continue.
From here, you are going to be asked to fill in some admin data - like a WordPress username and password. Make sure that these are easy for you to remember, as you are going to need to input them every single time you log into WordPress from this point forward.
That being said, make sure they are not too easy, as hackers do unfortunately exist and you don't want to make their job any easier.
Once your username and password are all ready, you want to click the Install WordPress button to continue.
Guess what? You just created a self hosted WordPress blog in about 15 minutes. Wasn't that significantly less stressful than you imagined it being?
You will receive a link to your website as soon as WordPress has finished installing, and you can then head over to your website and start posting blogs immediately.
Now comes the fun part, where you can get your creative juices flowing and start connecting with your audience.
